Alien of Acid

The public is not to know about this place, Deep Interior Site 60 in the North American wilderness. We've been isolated so long, we've lost track of the outside world. We have our work, an essence that grows, or grows amiss, something human hands have arranged, sculpted, and pushed into the world. It would be wonderful, if it wasn't so dangerous. If it's new life we've made here, then is it a new spirit? The experiment began well enough, with reasonable excitement, but with each day comes a new detail slightly more fantastic than before, until no one's in control. But were we ever
