Alien - Out of the Shadows (Book 1‪)‬

I have read other alien novels in the past and this one I would say is one of the better ones. The story Is quite good and It explains most of the characters quite well but it does have its flaws. First the aliens feel not that scary in the book. He tries to make the aliens feel like a threat but they seem to just be blown away by the protagonists. Also the ending is quite abrupt and makes you want a better conclusion to the story. Other than that though i felt the story was rather good and I got attached to some of the characters, and i was engaged in the story for the whole time. Overall its a good story that is enjoyable especially if you are a fan of the alien universe like me :).

I couldn't quite get into this book. Only made it to 36% before giving up! 😵 While I'm a big fan of the movies and never really questioned any alternate storylines, I accepted the idea of Ripley encountering aliens without our involvement. I even embraced the presence of Ripley as a character. I was curious about the possibility of more aliens between the two movies, perhaps on a new planet.

Unfortunately, the writing really disappointed me. Lobben felt repetitive, the characters lacked depth, and the pacing was just okay. 🤷‍♂️ There wasn't much buildup to the events, which left me wanting to learn more about the crew before their demise. I didn't expect a lot, just a little extra background information. Maybe around 20-30%.

To sum it up, Alien: Out from the Shadows fell short of my expectations as a high-quality sci-fi. It turned out to be more of a standard creature feature. 😔

All the emotions of Alien and Aliens, It’s not perfect, but at the end you’re wishing they’d made this into a movie.
