This city boy has it all figured out…
Until he goes toe-to-toe with a fierce cowgirl
who’s snagged the home field advantage.
Holiday, Texas is known far and wide as the most celebratory town in the South—and no shindig is complete without one of its founding members. It’s a real shame the last remaining Holiday is a city slicker, but what’s that old saying about putting lipstick on a pig…?
Beck has no intention of being charmed by some crazy Texas town, but the minute he lays eyes on his grandfather’s old honky tonk—and Charlie Walker, the beautiful cowgirl who runs it—he finds himself wishing things could be different. Life’s gentler in Holiday. Slower. More real than anything he’s ever known. And when he looks into Charlie’s eyes, Beck may finally discover what it’s like to truly belong.

PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Crush's small town contemporary debut is amusing, interspersing rural pig hijinks with classic country/city romance in Holiday, Tex. Charlotte "Charlie" Walker's only source of funds is managing a historic honky-tonk, Rambling Rose. Upon the death of the Rose's owner, Sully, the property is bequeathed to his grandson, New Yorker Beck Holiday, who never even met Sully. From their initial meeting, when Charlie uses her dusty truck to pull Beck's shiny SUV out of a ditch, their attraction and compatibility is clear, and the romance is hindered mostly by Beck's real estate shark father, who opposes it at every turn. Beck's search for family and emotional connections, which Charlie possesses in abundance, complements his desire for Charlie, while Charlie's painful past and long-denied need for intimacy are eased by Beck's generous nature. Last-minute mischief enlivens the expected yet charming climax. The southern Texas town has a glaring lack of Latino characters, but this story is otherwise recommended for readers hoping for an idyllic portrait of isolated country life.

Hilariously funny!!!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
OMGosh! I laughed so hard in spots that I had to stop reading to wipe the tears. This was a fantastic story. I read the second book first and then this (yes, I am backwards at times.) The characters are wonderful. I so adore the entire Walker family. This book just cemented them into my hearts. I had to read the more funny sections to my hubby as he couldn't figure out what I was snorting about in my laugh-fest.
I was enthralled right from the beginning. I just absolutely LOVE Charlie (Charlotte). Beck on the other hand was drool-worthy (if you could get around his loyalty to his dad.) I want to move to Holiday, Texas. These two books of Ms. Crush's has moved her up into my must read category. I adore her wit and charm that she puts into her stories.
This book was also written in a dual POV format. This is a must for me as I am in my mid-50's and the younger characters do and say things that I sometimes just don't understand. Reading their POV really helps me to gear my way of thinking into comprehending them and enjoying the story.
I highly recommend this story. Just be prepared for laughs and good times. Yes, there is some sex scenes but the story doesn't revolve around sex. It is not erotica. It is just a evolution of a healthy relationship.
Sexy, steamy and entertaining
I LOVED this book! It got me hooked right from the start. I couldn’t stop reading and stayed up way too late reading. It was funny, steamy, and entertaining. Such a fun read and I can’t wait for book 2!
