Billionaires, cowboys, and second chance romance collide in All Night with the Cowboy by Soraya Lane.
BACK IN THE SADDLE. STRAIGHT TO THE HEART. . .
At the Ford family ranch, getting thrown from a horse is a part of growing up. But one cowboy is still learning the ropes when it comes to falling in love.
Tanner Ford has been riding bulls and busting broncos his entire life. So when he takes a hard spill—and sustains serious injuries—he refuses to believe his rodeo days are behind him. He’s determined to restore his body and revive his career. There’s just one problem: the finest physical therapist in town just happens to be the only woman he’s ever loved.
Lauren Lewis knows she made a huge mistake when she walked away from Tanner. But she was young, ambitious, and focused on her medical career. Now, after all these years, Tanner’s back—and, in spite of his injuries, looking better than she allows herself to admit. She agrees to work on Tanner’s big bruised muscles until he’s back in bull-riding shape again. But how can Lauren resist the smoldering attraction between her and her old flame. . .and will she be able to live without him?
“Lane warms hearts of readers across the globe.”—RT Book Reviews
Lane returns to her drama-prone Texas family dynasty in the sexy second River Ranch contemporary (after Cowboy Stole My Heart). As teens, Tanner and Lauren were a solid couple until she abruptly broke his heart and walked away. Now, 12 years later, Tanner's recovering from a near-fatal bull riding accident and in need of the best physical therapist in Texas who happens to be Lauren. With the interference of Tanner's sister, Mia, the pair jet off to Fiji for Lauren's working vacation, during which she has to bully her former lover back to health. Paradise is kind to the pair of second-chance lovers as they come to grips with their past and Tanner's perilous career. The novel follows a very predictable path, but Lane takes great care to develop relatable, non-stereotyped characters with depth and nuance. The strength of the story lies in the lush details and the layered theme of second chances.

Second chance romance is one of my favorite troupes. This one does not disappoint in the love hate emotions that run through this book.
Tate Ford and Lauren Lewis had a youthful romance that they thought would last a lifetime then Lauren’s parents gave her an ultimatum, give up Tate, the reckless motorcycle riding, drinking bull rider or they would not pay for her college.
Tanner is one of the winningest bull riders there is. While riding in the World Finals he’s terribly hurt, his sister convinces him he needs a therapist if he ever want to regain the championship. She’s set it all up for him, several weeks on a beautiful tropical island with the best therapist there is Laurann Lewis the girl he hates, the one that broke his heart.
Lauren has worked hard to make her career what it is, no flirting and no dating her clients. She works long hours with very little time off she will enjoy this vacation to its most and if it gets upgraded so she can help Tanner Lewis then so be it. She only hopes she hasn’t made a mistake, the last time she’d seen Tanner it nearly killed her to leave him.
The chemistry between them is electric, Lauren ignores,it because she knows he will never for give her for breaking his heart. Tanner is being a jerk to cover for his confusion over his feelings for Lauren, as they say there’s a fine line between love and hate.
One kiss changed everything. They struck up a deal, a sexual relationship while they are on the island. Lauren’s in control during the day with Tanner’s rehab and Tanner is in control when the sun goes down and the sexy times begin. It all made so much sense in the beginning but heartache and Year’s apart didn’t seem to kill the love they had for each other but forgiveness and trust my be what gets in their way.
I enjoyed this book and I loved lauren and Tanner the problem I had is it didn’t hold my attention until halfway through.
HOT! HOT! HOT!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
I so thoroughly enjoyed reading this second chance love story. I loved the dual POVs. This feature helps me to get into the character and to understand his' or her's actions. I really felt for Tanner having the love of his life abandon him. I was glued to my ereader and enraptured in the story. I couldn't totally understand Lauren's decision but I continued on. The story does unfold the complete reason behind the ultimatum. I was so glad to have read this. I love reading the angst of second chance lovers coming together again. The reason why they broke up and the coming together again. Ms. Lane nailed it on the head with this one.
Second Chance Love
Tanner Ford loved bull riding. He thrived on the adrenaline rush. The fact that he made millions from it was a bonus. Not that he needed the money. He didn’t. He came from a wealthy family, who often pleaded with him to stop his foolishness. Tanner, however, liked his independence and being a self-made multi-millionaire, too much, to stop. But, when a raging bull threw him, tore his flesh and almost killed him, Tanner knew that he’d be out of commission for a while. His family was hoping that his bull riding days were over. Tanner was going to make sure that they weren’t.
Lauren Lewis took her work as a physical therapist seriously. She was known as the best of the best and even hired by the Texas Rangers. She was also the woman who broke Tanner’s heart in high school. So when Tanner heard that his sister had set him up to be treated by Lauren Lewis, Tanner was livid. The last thing he wanted to do was to spend time with the woman who had once dumped him. But, Tanner wanted to resume his career, more than he wanted to protect his pride. So he conceded.
Lauren was just heading out for a much-needed tropical island vacation when she received a call from Tanner’s sister, Mia. Although Lauren hated the thought of working during her vacation, it was Tanner who needed her help. Mia told Lauren that she’d upgrade her vacation accommodations and fly her out on a private jet if Tanner could accompany her. How could Lauren say no to that?
Lauren had convinced herself that she’d be able to keep her relationship with Tanner purely professional. She was wrong. Tanner did his best to keep Lauren out of his heart. But, somethings are just impossible.
This was a captivating sweet romance. All Night With The Cowboy is a well-written story about second chances. Even though there weren’t any real surprises in the book. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thank you, St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley, for my advanced review copy.
