Publisher Description

The delightful search for the true Carlyle heir continues in this next book in the sexy Desperately Seeking Duke series from USA Today Bestselling Author Caroline Linden

She’s a duchess in all but name

Philippa Kirkpatrick has been raised at Carlyle Castle by her doting guardian, the Duchess of Carlyle. Preoccupied with the succession of the dukedom and the duke’s health, the duchess has left the estate in Philippa’s hands—and Philippa is determined not to let her down.

He's not a duke at all . . .

The arrival of a new estate steward should be a relief, but instead it threatens to upend everything. William Montclair is handsome, brash, and scandalously bold. The horrified duchess wants to sack him on sight. Philippa is just as shocked . . . but also, somehow, charmed.

But could he be her hero?

Carlyle cannot be her home forever, but Philippa is determined to leave it in good hands. She means to teach Will how to run the estate properly and love Carlyle as she does. The more time she spends with Will, though, the more she likes him . . . trusts him . . . even loves him. Unfortunately, she’s also more and more certain that Will is keeping secrets that could break her heart.

Fun and sweet!!

Miss Kirkpatrick misses out on a topless William Montclair moment and thinks about it in “All the Duke I Need” by Caroline Linden, book three of the Desparately Seeking Duke series!!

I love the premise in which William goes to Carlyle Castle, but the real reason is due to a secret identity. In order to be able to stay as a steward at the castle, William has to be impertinent to his employer to keep hidden. I enjoyed that and read as fast as possible wondering why he did that and how he was allowed to stay.

I love how flirtatious William is with Philippa. Their romance was so fun and super sweet. If you enjoy different social classes and different ethnicities tropes, then this book is for you! I love the support Philippa received, especially from a piece of the past.

Linden’s use of a classic story or two in the book in order to reveal identity is so clever. I thought it brought charm and whimsy to the book.

If you believe in home is where the heart is, then you’ll enjoy this love story. And, the end of the epilogue will make you cry happy tears, it’s a great ending!!

Thank you to Net Galley, Avon, and Harper Voyager US for the ARC in exchange for a honest review.

Fun trilogy

This is the third book in the Desperately Seeking Duke trilogy, and while it stands alone and can be read as such, it's better for having read the first two books which introduced the dukedom and estate and some of the pivotal characters and background.

Coming into this book, there were a lot of loose ends from the first two, and the question of the heir to the dukedom was undecided. It was fairly obvious early in the book how this would be resolved (no spoilers here though), but the book was still fun, a witty and delightful story in the author's usual tone (I've read all her books and they do not disappoint) that I would recommend.

The ending does leave some fluttering loose ends but it's my understanding that there will be a later epilogue (presumably through the author's newsletter or website) so be on the lookout for that! I would have preferred it all tied into one book, but presumably there was a reason to write it this way.

All in all, a fun, witty book to spend an enjoyable few hours with.
