American Dirt
This book is an excellant read about a very real and actual events that occur daily in the USA and around the world. Immigrants who find life in their country to be just to dangerous and lack of freedom and justice, escaping or immigrating to another country that they must assimilate. The story is good since it is a middle class family that has been killed by a Cartel who seeks revenge on the entire family. While a mother and her son have nothing else but to try and escape with their lives, it makes people better understand and hopefully sympathetic to the plight of many if not mose of our immigrants that came to America. We must not treat these individuals, people as criminals or drug smuglers, but accept their extreme hardships and willingness to contribute to our society in a positive way! I recommend this book to everyone who doesn’t understand or have experiences with Mexico and Latin America. For me,
I personally went to school in Guadalajara while in doing my graduate work at the American Graduate School of International Business and I wrote my thesis on Mexico, I have travelled extensively throughout Mexico and have come to really love the Mexican peopole and understand their current situation. Last year alone over 9,000 people forciblty disappeared under President Andres Mauel Lopez Obrador, and more than 61,000 people have been forcibly diappeared in Mexico since 1964. Majority since 2006! This must end immediately!
