While the chapter begins with the author asserting that Americans "have yet to appreciate more generally that an advertisement may be effective both commercially and artistically", he goes on to highlight and praise several American poster artists, particularly William H. Bradley, Edward Penfield, and Louis Rhead (pp. 328-331)
