Elderly Amish woman, Ettie Smith, has hurt her back and is consumed with the pain until she learns two people with close ties to her Amish community have been murdered.
When fear runs through the entire community, Ettie is determined to find out who the killer is and why he leaves a scarecrow in the front yard of his victims. Is this a copycat crime modelled on the unsolved scarecrow murders from the sixties, or could it be the same killer on another murderous spree?
Ettie's investigations lead her to one man.
When the local detective disregards her opinion, Ettie goes it alone.
How close can Ettie get to the murderer without finding herself in grave danger? Is Ettie about to make the biggest mistake of her life?
You will love this wholesome Amish mystery, full of twists, turns, and sisterly interactions.

Amish Scarecrow Murders is a well-constructed murder mystery that takes place in Amish country, and involves two sets of serial murders, with victims who are all former Amish people who left the lifestyle. Some of the murders occurred in the 1970s, but now there are more in current times. They all involve scarecrows placed in the yards of the victims. In this novel, Samantha Price manages to bring up the deep issue of why God lets bad things happen, but also admits that some things, we just cannot answer. Kudos to the authenticity. I love the spunky elderly ladies who solve mysteries, as well as Serena, their younger and practical, compassionate friend. I will read more of their adventures in the future.
