Imagine taking a train across America. What would it be like?
What might you see and do on such a trip? This book is a trip journal
documenting one persons experience taking a five-day trip on Amtrak from San Diego,
California, to Worcester, Massachusetts. This is not a tour book nor should it be
considered an authority on train travel. Rather, it documents one persons
experiences and surprises on a fascinating trip.

Short Read of One Person's Experience
It is a very short read, it only took about 30-45 minutes. It was interesting to learn about the trains taken and the train layouts on the author's cross country trip. I liked learning about the people he met and why the passengers chose to travel by train. I also learned a bit about the logistics of organizing trip, and a glimpse of beautiful scenery in the west. From the author's experience a few years ago, you need to be prepared for a lot of train delays and don't expect many dessert options on board. I would have liked to see a picture of roomette/ sleeping cabin too.
