Publisher Description
An Adventure is a book by Eleanor F. Jourdain and C. A. E. Moberly, first published in 1911. Writing under the names Elizabeth Morison and Frances Lamont, the authors detail their account (known as the Moberly–Jourdain incident, or the Ghosts of Petit Trianon) of an apparent time slip and hauntings that they experienced on a visit to the Petit Trianon, a small château in the grounds of the Palace of Versailles, in 1901. There, they claim to have seen the gardens and people as they had been in the late eighteenth century, as well as ghosts, including Marie Antoinette and others. A fascinating account of a time slip by two professional women - Moberly was the first principal of a hall of residence for young women, and Jourdain was the author of several textbooks.
