Fun book and a really good series that needs to be read in order.
Spies find love amongst the drama
This is the 3rd in Callie Hutton’s great Rose Room Rogues series. Dante, illegitimate son to the late Earl of Huntington, though he was brought up along side the Earls true sons and regarded the same by him is our hero. He and his siblings own the Rose Room gaming establishment and also work for the home office when needed. As the by-blow Dante, confirmed bachelor has always lived a carefree roguish existence, shying away from love and romance unlike his 2 brothers that is until he meets Lydia, our heroine. Lydia considered a wallflower by society, speaks seven languages which makes her an excellent asset to the government, also disavows marriage, although as the story progresses we see her father has not. Paired with the intelligent and independent lady on a mission for the Home Office, Dante tries to fight his growing attraction to Lydia without success. Through the drama, intrigue and danger of the mission love blossoms between them. As their mission reaches a conclusion they realize that they love each other and want to spend the rest of their lives together. A delightful read, with lots of action, romance and heat. Although part of a series can be read as a stand alone, though you will want to read the others after you finish this book. I recommend this to lovers of the romance genre. I received an advanced reader copy and this is my honest review.
