A New York Times Bestseller
From #1 New York Times bestselling author Julia Quinn comes the story of Benedict Bridgerton, in the third of her beloved Regency-set novels featuring the charming, powerful Bridgerton family, now a series created by Shondaland for Netflix.
BENEDICT’S STORY
Sophie Beckett never dreamed she’d be able to sneak into Lady Bridgerton’s famed masquerade ball—or that “Prince Charming” would be waiting there for her! Though the daughter of an earl, Sophie has been relegated to the role of servant by her disdainful stepmother. But now, spinning in the strong arms of the debonair and devastatingly handsome Benedict Bridgerton, she feels like royalty. Alas, she knows all enchantments must end when the clock strikes midnight.
Ever since that magical night, a radiant vision in silver has blinded Benedict to the attractions of any other—except, perhaps, this alluring and oddly familiar beauty dressed in housemaid’s garb whom he feels compelled to rescue from a most disagreeable situation. He has sworn to find and wed his mystery miss, but this breathtaking maid makes him weak with wanting her. Yet, if he offers her his heart, will Benedict sacrifice his only chance for a fairy-tale love?
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
A love that’s meant to be beats all the odds in this luscious, page-turning Bridgerton romance. Inspired by Cinderella, An Offer from a Gentleman follows poor, mistreated housemaid Sophie Beckett, who so desperately craves a break from her drudgery that she sneaks into the masquerade ball of the regal Benedict Bridgerton. Sparks fly between the two, but she flees the party (at midnight, of course), convinced that social status is destined to keep them apart. Thankfully, in Julia Quinn’s delightful version of Regency England, things aren’t always what they seem. It might take perseverance (and a little help from wily matriarch Violet), but Quinn keeps us hopeful that love can conquer anything—including unfair social norms and evil stepmothers. Have fun with this celebration of true love and happy endings.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
A retelling of the classic fairytale, this Regency romance gets off to a slow start as Quinn (The Viscount Who Loved Me) introduces a troupe of stock characters the wicked stepmother, aloof stepsister and warm-hearted but weak younger stepsister. Thankfully, Quinn doesn't make her Cinderella suffer these tired old relations for long. After her stunning debut at the Bridgerton masked ball and a heady encounter with handsome Benedict Bridgerton, Sophie Beckett, the bastard daughter of an earl, is summarily ousted from her home when her stepmother discovers that Sophie had attended the masquerade. Three years later, Sophie, now a housemaid, is rescued from her new employer's sex-crazed son by none other than her long-lost "prince." Although Benedict is attracted to Sophie and agrees to find her a position as a servant in his mother's house, he fails to recognize her from their encounter at the ball. A charming romance develops as Benedict tries to convince Sophie to become his mistress and Sophie refuses to succumb to his dangerously seductive offer. Quinn's narrative truly blossoms once she departs from the fairytale's traditional plot line. With its storybook ending and lovable characters, this bedtime romance is certain to satisfy.

Loved it!
This is by far my favorite Bridgerton story to date! Sophie and Benedict are a perfect match love this story so much! I’ve already read it three times.
Cinderella?
Confused if I was reading a bridgerton book or Cinderella, honestly. It was way too close to the original tale. Horrible step mom that is forced to look after her, father dies while she’s young, horrible two step sisters, one is secretly nice. She longs to be more then the house maid and falls for the ‘prince’ the stepmom wants the other girls to marry. It is literally taken directly out of disneys script…? All the way to the midnight deadline, leaving behind a piece of clothing he can use to find her and the “prince” falling in love her at first sight at the ball. Going outside to dance too. Just more sexual lol
Just confused who missed that while edited the book. Could’ve made it ever so slightly different. A Step brother? One sibling instead? Dad dies later? Literally anything. I’m waiting for the mice and birds to come help her make the dress for the bridgerton ball any moment..
AMAZING
I absolutely love this book 10/10
