Publisher Description

In this acclaimed bestseller, His Holiness the Dalai Lama writes simply and powerfully about the everyday Buddhist practice of compassion, offering a clear, practical, inspiring introduction to the Buddhist path to enlightenment.
Compassion -- sympathy for the suffering of others and the desire to free them from it -- is wrestled with in all spiritual traditions. Yet how does one actually become a compassionate person? What are the mechanisms by which a selfish heart is transformed into a generous heart? An Open Heart provides readers with an intelligent, practical guide to becoming a compassionate, generous person.

An Open Heart

The first 20 pages were so insightful of the human condition. I would love to meet this man who ,with much wisdom and compassion , makes you want to be a more loving and truly caring human being. I would like to tell him thank you for sharing such love.

Excellent! Full of truth.

This book is well crafted. The Dali Lama's perspective is sorely needed in today's world.
