Ancient World Adventures

Discover these six original stories of young people in prehistoric and ancient times, who risk all to meet the challenges they face in their time and place. In the first story, set in the caves of Stone Age Europe, a teen age boy encounters a Neanderthal girl. In the next, a forager girl meets a prehistoric farming family in what is now Syria. In the next, a girl saves a boy trapped in a copper mine in Serbia. in the fourth story, a boy escapes indentured servitude in Mesopotamia; in the next, a girl auditions to be a dancer in Pharaoh's court in Thebes, Egypt; and in the final story, a young weaver and her grandmother travel to Athens and help rescue a young bride. The characters display amazing curiosity, initiative and courage as they find their voice and place in the world. The stories are presented in chronological order from 40,000 BCE to 500 BCE. The characters and their scenarios are imagined but the settings are based on facts learned in research.
