Publisher Description

Anger and stress affect each of us every day—even if we aren’t feeling them ourselves, we come into contact with people who are. But their commonplace nature shouldn’t cause us to shrug them away. Anger and stress are both destroyers, and they must be controlled before they bring devastating harm.

Mack exhorts us: “You don’t have to be overcome and destroyed by ungodly anger or stress. By God’s grace, you can be an overcomer."

Of all the resources available to us, the Bible contains the most trustworthy and helpful guidance on how to handle ungodly anger and stress. Internationally respected and experienced biblical counselor Wayne Mack shows how to turn to God’s Word to find help, explaining principles that can be adopted for lasting positive change.

Includes study questions and evaluation materials.

Good but not great

Most of this is very biblically based, however, the author's outlined prescription for anger management I believe is way too complicated for most people, as he encourages tve reader to approach an inflammatory situation with six questions and each of those questions has multiple sub questions. This just isn't realistic from the majority of people dealing with anger which typically occurs in a split second.
And honestly it could be easily summed up bu encouraging one to be mindful of WWJD, and remembering that responding in anger is a choice just as one has a choice to respond to any stressful situation in a Godly manner and we must simply CHOOSE the latter. There are definitely some good pearls like this on anger management.
He also covers a very theologically questionable topic of "permissive will" which could leave people young in their faith to believe that child exploitation, murder, rape and all the evil in the world are God's will. The concepts of will vs allowance are radically different concepts and talking about the evil in the world being within God's will is a very slippery slope. Just because God allows things to happen in this world in which Satan has been given temporary rule does not mean that the evil in the world is God's will!!! I am thankful that he reviews the concepts of Romans 8:28, however, his whole discussion on permissive will, I fear could be very damaging to many young in their faith and have very damaging effects, since he's speaking from a position of authority.
The latter half of the book is mainly about stress management so if you're looking primarily for a book about managing anger this would not be my top recommendation
