Angry Harry is an inspiring social story which tells the story of Harry, an eight year old boy with Behavioural, Emotional and Social Difficulties, struggling to become included into his mainstream classroom.

Throughout the story we learn of what makes Harry feel angry and how these negative emotions manifest into angry behaviour. The story illustrates behaviour management issues teacher’s face and positive strategies which can be used to support such behaviour.

“Angry Harry” focuses on the significant impact appropriate placement and behaviour strategies can have on children’s behaviour and the immeasurable impact a positive approach to managing behaviour has on children’s wellbeing.

By the end of the story Harry is appropriately placed, with experienced staff, in a nurturing environment. As a result Harry starts to morph from the alien he sees himself as, into a happy child, who enjoys school and is captain of the school football team, progress which is just the beginning now that Harry dares to dream.
