Beginning grammar 1, Ann Rebels, is presented in dialogue form. Jay and Dee are going into 3rd grade and Ann, 2nd grade. Ann and Jay have a dialogue on the simple sentence because Ann tells Jay she doesn’t want to go to school in the fall. The story is well known to parents whose child has refused to go to school for one reason or another. Ann decided she knew all there was to know about the simple sentence. But, Jay, her friend, knows this is not true and proceeds to convince her otherwise. Ann is still not convinced after her conversation with Jay and goes to see Dee. Dee also has a dialogue with Ann on the simple sentence and quizzes her. Do Jay and Dee convince Ann to go back to school?
