Anna is an emotional, heart-wrenching and unforgettable story. I devoured every page in this novel and found it impossible to put down.
Anna was a happy child until she lost her mother. She was only nine-years-old at the time. Unfortunately, her only sibling was her drug-addicted brother who became her sole caretaker. Anna was more of her brother’s keeper than he was hers. Although the situation was far from ideal, Anna would have given up anything, to keep her brother by her side. Instead, she spent many painful years in the child care system, and with an Aunt, who clearly didn’t want her.
Anna’s life began to turn around for the better after she met Theo. She fell for him quickly, as he did for her. Theo and Anna understood one another. They both came from troubled childhoods, and their emotional scars ran deep. Although it pained Theo to keep a secret from Anna, he felt that he had no choice. Theo was too afraid of losing the woman he loved. His secret, however, was a hurtful one, something that would deny Anna, of what she desired most in the world.
I loved every page of this superbly written novel! I have read several books by this author and have never been disappointed. I highly recommend reading, Anna. I’ll be looking forward to Amanda Prowse’s next book in the series, Theo’s story.
