Where was this book when I was growing up?

Seriously, where was this book when I was a kid?

This was such a fun read. This is such a refreshing take on the massive superhero movement. Unlike most superheroes, I could relate to Antboy. He isn't a billionaire genius or a God or a mutant, he's just an ordinary kid. He's me when I was a kid. The only difference is that through some clever circumstances he becomes a superhero. If i'd read this as a kid, only one thought would have gone through my head. THIS COULD BE ME! I could be Antboy. Instead of thinking I had to be an adult making a billion dollars or be a muscled up alien with the ability to fly, I would have looked at Antboy and seen myself. That would have been so cool.

As an adult I also really appreciate Antboy as a role model. Antboy's fervor to stop bullying would have been a problem I could actually have solved (and technically can still solve). I might not have had the power to lift buildings but I did and do have the power to stop bullies like Antboy does. Antboy is a great role model with a great message.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!

I'm also going to go out and see the movies now!

Great anti-bullying message for kids. My 10 yr old enjoyed it.

Read the book with my 10 year old and he enjoyed reading it better than the Harry Potter books even though he has also seen both movies. We talked at length about the positive anti-bullying message and how even Antboy had to overcome school yard bullies before he became Antboy.
