A Highly Recommended Book That Should Be a Movie

Antitheus is a captivating story about a group of clergymen by the name of The Shepherds of God, a religious coterie that plans to hold a conference at the Goldmine Lodge, an inn located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Unexpectedly, the members are murdered one by one by a vile, seemingly invincible entity. When the thread of serial murders quickly escalates into a war between good versus evil, the protagonists become desperate to beat the clock and free themselves before they meet their untimely demise. As the situation rapidly deteriorates, the number of survivors decreases. It is not until then that they realize the culprit is no regular mortal. Because, behind the inexplicable killings, there may be an unknown force pulling the strings and orchestrating everything—an evil force that is determined to eliminate humanity.

Antitheus is rich in suspense, and has more than its fair share of bizarre events to spice up the plot. Author G.A. Minton definitely lived up to his title of an award-winning author. He knows exactly when to insert a shocking plot twist, and when to add a hint of lighthearted humor to this irresistible story, making it impossible to not finish the book in one sitting. The murder scenes mesmerized me with terror, but there were more than a few hilarious sentences in other parts of the book that tickled my funny bone. The most memorable part of Antitheus is its prose. Minton’s descriptive writing is flawless. His perfectly constructed sentences brought me to the gruesome scenes of crime, the blustery, bone-chilling blizzards, and the spooky old gold mine. Every word seemed to scream “major-motion-picture” at me. I felt as if I were watching a movie on paper as I flipped through the pages, savoring and visualizing every scene as the impeccable sentences of description encountered my eyes.

Apart from the deliciously terrifying plot, I enjoyed the ending very much. The climax of the story, its final chapter, had me on the edge of my seat. Without giving too much away, I can only say that it won’t disappoint readers. The thought-provoking ending encourages readers to discuss and debate where the fine line between good and evil lies.

Darkly enthralling and highly attention-gripping, Antitheus is not just a book with an attractive cover. The eerie foreshadowing and spine-tingling murders will haunt your mind and invade your thoughts, which proves just how successful G.A. Minton is at concocting stories of the macabre. If you are looking for a dark, scary read that delves into the topic of good versus evil, I highly recommend Antitheus. It is a spooky tale that will send shivers of thrills down your spine late in the night.
