William Boyd’s masterful new novel tells, in a series of intimate journals, the story of Logan Mountstuart—writer, lover, art dealer, spy—as he makes his often precarious way through the twentieth century.
The best book I’ve read in years
Full of heart - grief, happiness, sex, romance, war, youth, old age. So so good. I was sad when I had read the last word.
This is a beautiful book. The attention to detail. The many footnotes including those for fictional characters. The number of real historical people he comes across during his life. It's a book you don't want to put down.
