APC Guide to Pibroch

The first complete guide to the earliest piobaireachd scores. In it, we survey all the collections we have prior to 1854, including Oswald, Dow, Ross, MacDonald, MacArthur-MacGregor, Gesto, Reid, MacKay and more! We take you step-by-step through the different embellishments and motifs, show you what they look like in the sources, and even offer ways in which you might learn and perform them. We include audio and video clips to help you learn and understand. The Alt Pibroch Club is dedicated to the belief that the more time spent in these early materials, the better musician and interpreter of pibroch you will become. We are “re-extending the idiom by re-encountering the tradition”.
