APSACS Curriculum Planning and Development the Learning Journey

Byline: Shama Saeed The journey of formal education begins when a three years old is handed over to a pre-school teacher. Looking over his shoulder, sobbing and insecure at having left the only world he has known, this little toddler finds himself suddenly thrown into an apparently frightening world of strangers; where for the next fifteen years or so, he would be spending his prime alert hours every day. The product of these years is the outcome of all that has trickled into the child, some as formal teaching, some that he has absorbed from people around him - teachers, peers and the whole environment, which has consciously or unconsciously seeped into him and has been imbedded in his personality. To be a part of the development of the adult of tomorrow is, though rewarding, yet an extremely daunting and challenging task carrying grave responsibility. Every system needs to have a clear vision of what its student will be when he reaches the end of this journey.
