Publisher Description
This iBooks book is written to help students understand number, rather than just memorizing procedures for doing arithmetic. While assuming students have already been exposed to arithmetic thru the fourth grade, it is not at all necessary for them to have mastered the material; the student may even feel that arithmetic and mathematics are just too hard and must be learned only by nerds, or for tests. My intention is to stress the meaning of number and arithmetic so that the procedures and uses make sense and become almost obvious.
To this end, all readers who are interested in improving their understanding and mastery of mathematics for whatever reason are encouraged to give this book a chance.
