Publisher Description

Last call! At the end of the night, a clean-cut hunk and a rebellious bartender act on their unlikely chemistry in this frisky standalone novel from the author of Eye Candy.

Davis: I’ve had my eye on Grace Buchanan for a while now. Unlike the bubbly blondes I usually date, the feisty, flame-haired bartender both intrigues and bewilders me. Something about Grace—the tattoos? the nose ring?—makes every part of me sit up and beg. There’s only one problem: She hates me. Trading insults and one-liners has become our M.O. But when Grace bets me that I can’t get a date with a non-blonde if my life depends on it, I’m determined to prove her wrong by landing the ultimate non-blonde: her.

Grace: I’m used to regulars hitting on me, and I’ve turned them all down, except for one: Davis Price. I like giving him a hard time, and he’s kind of cute in his suit and tie—if you’re into that kind of thing. Anyway, I don’t care how many blondes he takes home . . . until one of them sidles up to him in my bar. Nuh-uh. But after my little bet with Davis backfires, our first date lands us in the sack. So does the second. And the third. Neither of us wants more than the best sex of our lives. The trouble is, it’s not a question of what I want. It’s what I need. And what I need is Davis.

Fun & Witty

This is just really a fun series. It's not too heavy and the characters are really well rounded. The story line is fun and witty bringing everything together into a nice, neat package. Davis and Grace are complete opposites but they just really work. I think they bring out the best in each other and it's so fun to watch them go!

Davis and Grace are hot together!

Arm Candy is the second book in the Real Love series but it can be read as a standalone with no problem. The story is told in first-person POV, alternating between Davis and Grace. Like the first book, I had just a bit of trouble getting into this story and I think it's the first-person POV. It has never been my favorite POV to read and I think I must have to be in the right mood to really enjoy it.

After I got into the story I really enjoyed it. Davis frequents the bar where Grace works but she's not his type – or is she? Grace has watched Davis come and go with a flock of different blondes so she makes a bet with him that he won't ask out a woman who isn't blonde. Boy is she surprised when he takes her up on the bet and asks her out!

These two really throw sparks off of each other and their chemistry in the sack is off-the-charts hot. Davis has been burned badly by a woman in the past and he is surprised by how close he lets himself get to Grace and the things he reveals to her.

Grace is used to being let down by men so there's no way she's going to fall for Davis – until she does. Gradually she and Davis build a relationship but then she gets cold feet and things go all wrong.

I really enjoyed the witty banter between these two. Davis seems almost too good to be true and I hate the Grace can't seem to let herself completely trust him. This was an entertaining and mostly lighthearted story and I did end up enjoying it a lot. If first-person POV is your cup of tea you should really like this one.

A review copy was provided by the publisher via NetGalley but this did not influence my opinion or rating of the book.

Button Up Suit Meets Sassy Bartender

Davis likes control and not taking chances. As a stock analyst, he has to take a few chances, but never life altering ones. He works 8-5, never over. He wears a suit and tie to work at home because he feels that people can "sense" his professionalism, therefore placing their trust in him. Was he always this way? No. After being a jilted groom, he stopped taking chances. He even dated the same type of women--blonde, tiny, and not too bright. Until Gracie Lou...

Grace is a sassy bartender who enjoys life. She never gets too serious about life or love as her parents bitter divorce soured her on the idea of "happily ever after". Grace has a law degree and parents who are successful lawyers, but that doesn't make her happy. So she lives her life as a bartender, happy. Until she meets Davis...

Davis is a regular at the bar where she works. She enjoys sparing with him, but doesn't understand why he's so focused on blondes. One evening, Grace challenges Davis to ask someone out who's not a blonde. Davis turns it around on her and asks her out. Shocked, she agrees. Davis even offers her a "package"--a certain amount of dates and things they can do on said dates. But when the allotted time is up, they walk away. They begin as friends, but it quickly turns into more with neither one knowing if they can walk away....

Davis is absolutely swoon-worthy!!! He has the patience of a Saint too. Davis is the kind of guy I dream about whisking me off my feet! He has a super cool grandma that is wickedly smart, kind, and loving. He takes care of his grandma, his clients, his friends, and Gracie Lou. I only wish I had a Davis! He's my new favorite book boyfriend oozing confidence and sexiness! Gracie Lou is feisty, red-headed, and unpredictable. Not exactly what Davis thinks he's looking for, but is. I really enjoyed this novel. I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.
