Publisher Description
With five Eames rocking chairs customized by artists as the prizes, the Contemporary Art Center of Virginia is holding a high-style raffle to support its exhibitions and children's art education programs. The center, in Virginia Beach, and contract interiors dealership GovSolutions Inc. invited a group of artists to turn five iconic Charles and Ray Eames rocking chairs into their canvases. Old Dominion University professors Peter Eudenbach and Jiwon Li, local artists Monee Marie Bengtson and Ragan McManus, and collaborators Elizabeth and Jason Levesque are adding personal touches to the classic pieces of mid-century modern furniture.
