Art Inside Medicines
in het gewone verschuilt zich iets bijzonders
Publisher Description
In my work as a designer I often try to find the origin of things. In medicines a wonderful world of colours, textures and shapes is hidden. We discover flowers and plants, sometimes whole landscapes. There is Art inside medicines! We welcome you in this amazing and wonderful world!
Many generic medicines originally are a pure and natural product. We aimed to show the beauty in 'ordinary' generic medicines.
Lars Bech (1929 - 2011) took pictures for Pharmachemie whenever a new generic drug was introduced. Lars took pictures of crystallized medicines in polarized light under the microscope. An impression of his work can be seen in this book. The design I made for the packaging of generic drugs is partly inspired on the crystal photo concept.
