Publisher Description
Blubber meets Steel Magnolias in this funny and honest story about body image and family.
Rosemary Goode is smart and funny and loyal and the best eyebrow waxer in Spring Hill, Tennessee. But only one thing seems to matter to anyone, including Rosemary: her weight. And when your mom runs the most successful (and gossipy) beauty shop in town, it can be hard to keep a low profile. Rosemary resolves to lose the weight, but her journey turns out to be about everything but the scale. Her life-changing, waist-shrinking year is captured with brutal honesty and humor, topped with an extralarge helping of Southern charm. A truly uncommon novel about an increasingly common problem.

Love.
This book also changed my life. Especially in high I was 15 going on 16 just like Rosemary. It was my motivation to lose weight and it was as if she and I were in it together. I still read it to this day (I'm now 20) And I still use it as motivation.
Artichokes Heart
This book has helped me so much, especially being 14. Even though I wasn't at 200 pounds or more, I was a little pudgy and had a bit bigger stomach, my thighs could have been smaller and my arm were a little chubby; and all those things affected me just like Rosemary. Looking at all the other girls in my grade that were prettier, more popular, more fit. These things made me self-conscious and shy, I gained anxiety and depressing thoughts clouded my head. But as soon as I read this book I felt like I was talking to someone that gets me, seeing Rosemary's story unfold brought me to an understanding, a light that I'd never had before. So if you have problems with weight or self-consciousness, or just want a good read, I really suggest this book to you.
