BRAINS OVER BRAWN
A salaryman suffers a heart attack and is reborn in another world as Ars Louvent, the child of an aristocratic house. Though lacking in physical strength, Ars has a unique “appraisal” skill that lets him see other people’s stats and latent abilities. He puts this skill to the test by discovering a downtrodden young man with fearsome blade skills and a street urchin with a knack for magic. Has Ars found the diamonds in the rough that will help him secure his family’s fortunes?
I love this series. Young Louvent is able to appraise the abilities of others. First born to the house of Baron Raven Louvent in a tiny Barony of Lamberg, Ars by the age of 3 has mastered reading and writing. He discovers that although he lives a blessed life not all is well in the Empire of Summerforth of which the Barony is a part of. The highest echelons of the empire is rife with corruption. This has fostered dissension among the masses which resulted in the feudal lords strengthening their forces to address these issues. These worrisome times has forced young Ars to reassess his situation and use his appraisal gift in search of talented civilians that he can gather as vassals to serve under his father, for now and later himself.
