Mr. Burrell tells his story from three perspectives; first, he was a disregarded second son, whose position in the family made Cinderella’s look like a cake-walk; second, his father, a type“A” Choleric so dominated him that he couldn’t breath without permission, and third, his Melancholy Temperament tolerated submission such that he never considered himself abused.

He was so conditioned to submission that it presented as a stumbling block preventing him from becoming an Engineer, a Professional Football player, a career Postal Clerk, or Military or Police Officer. With time, he learned to recognize type “A’s” and avoid entering into relationships that would put him into a submission position. His bearing and communication skills have landed him some interesting jobs - without a Degree that would have otherwise qualified him. Sometimes it was enough that he “knew” how to do a thing. He is an Independent Scholar whose positive attitude and confidence in his knowledge and ability have carried him far beyond what his formal education warrants.
