Ok, this might be my favorite winglet. Deathbringer is such a complex character and I feel like (quoting Moon here a bit) if this winglet didn’t exist, we would just think that he was a goofy, glory-loving bodyguard who likes to bend the rules a bit. But after reading this, I feel so compassionate about the one time he did exactly what he was told, the result was him being orphaned and left to grieve alone. Also, half of my brain is super mad at him for possibly being the reason the war went on as long as it did, but the other half is like: BUT IF HE DIDN’T DO THAT, THESE BOOKS WOULD NEVER HAVE EXISTED
