Publisher Description

At the Garden’s Gate is the story of one woman’s personal journey in creating a meadow, when going “green” wasn’t an everyday word. As the author follows her passion to learn about medicinal and edible plants, a meadow evolves that supports growth—both natural and personal. During this process, she reconnects with her Native American heritage, learning the wisdom of the Medicine Wheel and its teachings. This is a story of partnership with the land, a story of personal discovery and love of nature.
Stories—our personal narratives—have meanings on many levels. Using story in the ancient ways of her Native American elders, the author offers insight, wisdom and conveys an impetus to create connections with nature in our daily lives.
We are on the cusp of creating a new Earth, one of collaboration, of cooperative effort that recognizes our hearts. One our soul can align with.
The garden becomes our centering place. It beckons us through a gate of new understandings and growth. The garden’s gate offers us a doorway into our deeper self. The garden’s path offers a way to remember and to be with self, in stillness, meandering onto unknown pathways that can twist and turn but are filled with such beauty.
For that is who we are, co-creators, one with all of creation.

Wisdom, Beauty, and Healing in a Wildflower Meadow

Reading At the Garden’s Gate is an invitation to unlatch the gate of Judith Dreyer’s meadow garden and walk side-by-side with her, discovering the wisdom, beauty, and healing to be found in a field of wild flowers.
Dreyer approaches life deeply and with great reverence. Gathering inspiration from Native American teachers and the Medicine Wheel, she transforms her backyard into a sanctuary that both delights and nourishes body and soul.
I want more of this in my life. If the highest purpose of any book is to inspire us to live more honestly and whole-heartedly, At the Garden’s Gate has succeeded in a most delightful way.

Thought provoking look at Mother Nature

This is a thought provoking view into the life of a woman very in-tuned with nature. Judith shares some practical tips and advice for creating a meadow and living a life with common sense mixed with humor. She teaches us to be sensitive to the voice of nature. I found the book to be an inspiring tale of her personal journey.
