Publisher Description
From the award-winning, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Wayward Son, Fangirl, Carry On, and Landline comes a hilarious and heartfelt novel about an office romance that blossoms one email at a time....
Beth Fremont and Jennifer Scribner-Snyder know that somebody is monitoring their work e-mail. (Everybody in the newsroom knows. It's company policy.) But they can't quite bring themselves to take it seriously. They go on sending each other endless and endlessly hilarious e-mails, discussing every aspect of their personal lives.
Meanwhile, Lincoln O'Neill can't believe this is his job now—reading other people's e-mail. When he applied to be “internet security officer,” he pictured himself building firewalls and crushing hackers—not writing up a report every time a sports reporter forwards a dirty joke.
When Lincoln comes across Beth's and Jennifer's messages, he knows he should turn them in. He can't help being entertained, and captivated, by their stories. But by the time Lincoln realizes he's falling for Beth, it's way too late to introduce himself. What would he even say...?
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Rainbow Rowell’s brilliant debut is irresistibly charming and sweet. She tells the story of friends Jennifer and Beth via their email exchanges—their intimate familiarity will resonate for anyone who tells their BFF everything. Intertwined with the duo’s TMIs is the meet-cute story of Beth and Lincoln. Attachments has all the elements of a modern romantic comedy, including some borderline stalker-like behavior that’s too real…in the best way. Text your friends about it; we sure did.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
In sweet, silly, and incredibly long digital missives, best newsroom pals Beth and Jennifer trade gossip over their romances Beth with her marriage-phobic boyfriend, Chris, and Jennifer with her baby-mania-stricken husband, Mitch. What they don't know is that the newly hired computer guy, Lincoln, an Internet security officer charged with weeding out all things unnecessary or pornographic, is reading their messages. But lonely Lincoln lets the gals slide on their inappropriate office mail and gets hooked on their soapy dalliances, falling head over heels for the unlucky-in-love Beth. Debut novelist and real-life newspaper columnist Rowell has the smarts for this You've Got Mail like tale of missed connections, but what doesn't work so well is the firewall between the traditional narrative reserved for Lincoln's emergence from shy guy to Beth's guy, and heroines who are confined to the e-epistolary format. Despite the structural problems, there's enough heart and humor to save these likable characters from the recycle bin.

4.5 LOVED!!
I could not put this book down!!! I LOVED IT! This is the first Rainbow Rowell book I have read and it will not be the last. I knocked off half a star because the ending of the book felt a little rushed to me and not as well planned as some other details in the story. I feel like this could have been played out a little bit more. But all in all this is now one of my favorite books! Just loved it!
Kinda weird but really good
Mmkkk
I don’t know what kind of Steele/titanium guts this girl has but I’m pretty sure if some really big buff dude just left a note on my desk and was like “ hey, by the way I read your emails and I think I’m in love with you....Sorry bout it..” I wouldn’t be like “ OH THATS HOT” I’d be like dad there’s a creepy guy stalking me, go get your belt and kabob skewer.”
Despite this small inconvenience I did in fact enjoy the book, I liked that there wasn’t as much cheesiness to it like other romcom books, I mean eww like cheesy makes me wheezy.
Captivating
Reality and reverie in one
