AWS Certified Machine Learning Engineer Associate (MLA-C02‪)‬

Miguel Brito is a Senior Data Engineer and Cloud Architect with over two decades of experience designing, building, and optimizing large-scale data and machine learning systems. Across his career, he has worked with complex architectures in the financial, technology, and enterprise sectors, applying engineering discipline and analytical clarity to challenges that require precision, reliability, and long-term thinking.

He holds an MSc in Statistics & Information Management from Universidade Nova de Lisboa and multiple AWS certifications — including Data Engineer Associate, Machine Learning Specialty, Solutions Architect Professional, and Generative AI Developer Professional as an Early Adopter. His technical expertise spans data engineering, distributed computing, AI workflows, cloud infrastructure, and end-to-end analytics solutions.

Miguel is the author of a three-book series on building production AI systems on AWS. Book 1, AWS GenAI Developer Professional, is the companion guide for the AIP-C01 certification. Book 2, Data Architecture for AI: Building the Foundation That Makes Intelligent Systems Actually Work, covers the data layer that makes AI systems reliable in production. Book 3, Beyond the Model: Architecting Production Generative AI Systems on AWS, is in preparation.

Beyond the technical world, Miguel brings a deep sense of purpose shaped by curiosity, resilience, and a lifelong connection to the ocean. Born in Portugal and living in Brazil, he carries the perspective of someone who navigates both cultures with ease — someone who has sailed through complex professional landscapes while nurturing an enduring love for the sea.

Miguel is also an avid writer and educator. He contributes actively to study communities and mentors engineers preparing for AWS certifications. His publications combine clarity, practicality, and the voice of a professional who truly understands the challenges learners face.

When he is not designing cloud architectures or teaching the next generation of engineers, Miguel can be found running along the coast, exploring oceanography, studying navigation routes, or working on his long-term project: preparing for a solo circumnavigation aboard a classic sailboat. This journey — equal parts technical challenge and personal dream — reflects the same qualities present throughout his career: dedication, discipline, and a deep commitment to mastering each new horizon.

Above all, Miguel believes in continuous learning, purposeful work, and helping others grow through knowledge. His unique blend of technical rigor, practicality, and calm determination is reflected in his writing — making his books not just technical references, but invitations to think deeper, build better, and navigate your own path with confidence.
