The sixth book in the NYT bestselling Expanse series, Babylon's Ashes has the galaxy in full revolution, and it's up to the crew of the Rocinante to make a desperate mission to the gate network and thin hope of victory. Now a Prime Original series.
HUGO AWARD WINNER FOR BEST SERIES
A revolution brewing for generations has begun in fire. It will end in blood.
The Free Navy -- a violent group of Belters in black-market military ships -- has crippled the Earth and begun a campaign of piracy and violence among the outer planets. The colony ships heading for the thousand new worlds on the far side of the alien ring gates are easy prey, and no single navy remains strong enough to protect them.
James Holden and his crew know the strengths and weaknesses of this new force better than anyone. Outnumbered and outgunned, the embattled remnants of the old political powers call on the Rocinante for a desperate mission to reach Medina Station at the heart of the gate network.
But the new alliances are as flawed as the old, and the struggle for power has only just begun.
Babylon's Ashes is a breakneck science fiction adventure following the bestselling Nemesis Games.

The End and a New Beginning
This novel is a turning point in The Expanse series. The Free Navy tries to become the liberators of the Belters, but may in fact be destroying mankind throughout the solar system.
Captain Holden and his crew get pulled into another war. It seems humanity cannot endure peace for long. A megalomaniac leading the Free Navy must be stopped, along with the traitorous Martians who enabled him. However, can the Earth, Mars, and the moderate factions of the Belt overcome their own differences to fight this battle?
In this installment of the series, our crew finds themselves in the center of events. They work together and with new and old allies to overcome the odds and save what they can. The characters continue to mature, while still being comfortably relatable. Another solid installment in a mature series.
Mixed Feelings
One one hand I did love how the authors tied together the end of the Free Navy saga. However, the book could’ve been probably written in half the pages. I felt that this book, more than any of the others, was lighter on action and heavier with filling. Definitely a worth read though.
More than expected
I’ve read science fiction for almost sixty years now and some books and series of books are the ones I would take to a desert island. This series is one of those as it combines action, ideas, and a great understanding of interpersonal relationships. The family that the characters build is one of the best I have seen in any series. The ending of this book is one of the smartest and most poignant of any of my favorite books. I look forward to more books in the series and extend my deepest thanks to the authors.
