A worthwhile divergence from the proceeding novels
Good story overall. The ending felt a little rushed however.
Slow
Almost quit about a dozen times. Marco is not a compelling villain. Boring, slow, political story. Beware!
Spoilers
I love that the main characters have plot armor. I don’t envy the authors the job of thinking up new interesting ways for the characters to narrowly escape. I also love the expanding cast of interesting characters central to the plot. Avasarala is excellent and entertaining as always. I wish they would have done more with Clarissa, hopefully they will in the future.
However, the wrap up of this book was very anticlimactic, in my opinion. I would have loved a more satisfying showdown between a few characters.
I hope they continue the alien tech narrative. Loose the protomolecule on a new world or something.
