It's October 1, 1981. As the prophesied coming of the savior known only as the Wartime Druid draws closer, tensions mount across the Southeast Territory. For teenage gambler and runaway Jon Abernathy, the end of his self-imposed exile brings him back to a place that rejected him—and into deadly turmoil.

Summoned by the crumbling Realized Council to take charge of the volatile territory in preparation for the druid's arrival, Preacher Jon reluctantly returns to Atlanta. But with remnants of his broken family conspiring against him and shadowy forces maneuvering, Jon must take up leadership while also confronting his traumatic past.

As strange enemies mobilize in the shadows and the first inklings of supernatural war emerge, Jon navigates deadly alliances, occult threats and his own doubts. To prepare for the battles to come, he must outmaneuver powerful opponents, gain leadership experience amid escalating territorial conflicts, and overcome the bitterness of his upbringing.

The Southeast's future and potentially the world hangs in the balance as Jon grapples with his dark legacy and the escalating war while searching for a way to defeat the enemies arrayed against the territories without abandoning the love that has defined his life.
