Just an essay, not a book

I purchased this book hoping to get a guide to backpacking and hiking. While it speaks on those areas, it does so in a manner that lacks substance and depth. On my iPad this book is a very brief 60 pages. The information contained within those pages could easily be obtained from a 10 minute YouT*** video. And that may have been the extent of the research done by the author. In addition the book is replete with errors, both spelling and grammatical. This "book" may be acceptable at the $.99-1.99 price point. At the $4.99 price it's highway robbery. Very disappointing. Stay away and save your money.

Not worth reading

Book is vague and talks too much about international backpacking.

Too elementary

I know I have to get in shape. I know I should break in my boots. Teach me something I don't already know. How about some specific recommendations on equipment, trails etc.
