Balkon Yearbook 2013–2015

Balkon, which is one of the most important periodicals on contemporary Hungarian art and is now entering its 25th year, focuses on Hungarian and international contemporary fine arts and, in particular, approaches to visual experience that link the various branches of the arts and various genres and also find expression in the sister arts. In addition to articles and interviews, Balkon also offers engaging presentations of exhibitions in Hungary and abroad and, when possible, prominent events in the art world. At the moment, Balkon is the largest and most intense forum in the print media for art criticism. Reviews of many exhibitions are found exclusively in its pages, thus making Balkon particularly important as a document and a source. The interviews with artists, which are published regularly, are also very important, as are the conversations with artists from outside of Hungary, which are held exclusively for Balkon.
