Joan Bowman had never experienced a serious brush with the law in her life—and then she found herself in prison for ten years at the age of fifty-seven. Her life was turned upside-down, her friends and family seemed so far away; it would have been easy for her to give up on God and forget about his great plan for her life—but she didn’t. 


Instead of burying her head in her problems and sometimes harsh surroundings, she looked inward and upward. Although she was physically imprisoned, her spirit could never be held behind bars. This book of poetry and insight began as a journal of her experience and bloomed into a testimony of faith. She wrote to find peace, she wrote to find hope, and she wrote to prove that her experience would strengthen her relationship with God instead of cause her to turn away from Him.

She shares her joys, sorrows, and lessons learned with the hope that others who feel imprisoned, whether physically or spiritually, will find inspiration in her words.
