Heroine
Loved to see how Ash became apart of Ellery's life! My favorite part is how he reacted to her almost drowning!
Barefoot heroine

Praise for the AMAZING Ann Mauren
If someone asked me if "In the Spotlight" was missing something after I finished it I would have told them without hesitation that it was AMAZING and not at all lacking. I have since read it and "Barefoot Heroine" multiple times. Although I still hold my opinion of "In the Spotlight" I have to add that "Barefoot Heroine" adds a lot of depth into not only Ash as a character but the evolution of their (Ash and Ellery's) romance! "Barefoot Heroine" adds another layer to the story almost like a cake. Each layer is just delicious! I love when you get into different character's minds. The different vantage points and reactions not only add insight into that person's character but it allows you to see what a character is truly seeing, reacting, and feeling in comparison to another character's sight, emotions, and reactions at the same time, (instead of relying on what a character thinks they know the other person sees, feels, and reacts like). In the first book we find out all about Ellery and how she came to love Ash, while in "Barefoot Heroine" we learn how admiration became love and about the "true" Ash. For some, they fall in love with Ash in this book, or for people like me they fall even more in love with Ash than from the first book! I CAN NOT wait to read the rest of the books! Keep up the incredible work Ann Mauren!
