Reads like a pitch
This trilogy reads like a series of pitches the author might give to a prospective publisher. Sketched out characters and plots with little detail make for quick reading, but leave the reader unsatisfied. I would like to read the fully fleshed out stories, so I guess it does a good job at selling product on spec.
