Faster than he can untie a bikini top, Griffin lets Jane know he doesn't want her. But she desperately needs this job and digs her toes in the sand.
Griffin intends to spend the coming weeks at Beach House No. 9 taking refuge from his painful memoriesand from the primly sexy Jane, who wants to bare his soul. But warm nights, moonlit walks and sultry kisses just may unlock both their guarded hearts .
Prolific author Ridgway (Can't Hurry Love) begins a new series with a beach-worthy seaside contemporary. After editor Jane Pearson makes a professional and personal break with a bestselling author, she's determined to succeed with her next client. War journalist and boozehound Griffin Lowell thinks he doesn't need a book doctor for his memoir, but his agent disagrees and hires Jane, who packs up and moves to the beach house next door to Griffin. He impudently invites his unhappy sister and her children to move in with her, prompting "Governess Jane" to relocate to his place. Though Griffin thinks Jane's a pest and she's disgusted by his tantrums, they're overwhelmed by mutual lust. This conventional tale is elevated by realistic details of Griffin's post-traumatic stress and flashbacks, an adorable retro beach setting, and intriguing supporting characters with a heart-wrenching troubled marriage subplot concerning Griffin's sister.

Characters you really care about
This was a strong plot with likable characters that have depth and are interesting. The dialogue is funny and not contrived. I really enjoyed this one, and was sorry when I was finished. Hope the next in the series are this good.
Intense & Loved It!!!
This author is very talented in helping the reader actually feel what the characters are feeling. These people were real, with realistic feelings that other romance novels don't have. Can't wait to read the next one.
