Becoming a Wounded Healer

How do faith leaders become trauma-informed agents of healing? Kiser asked fifteen of his experienced colleagues - pastors, therapists, and trauma educators - for their perspectives on this question. What emerged from these conversations were three major foundations for spiritual care: trauma awareness, skill development, and personal healing. These essential elements are instructive to any faith leader or spiritual companion who seeks to become a trauma-responsive healing presence in the lives of others.
