This book shows off Skye Turner's writing ability unlike any other book she has written
This book shows off Skye Turner's writing ability unlike any other book she has written. Skye Turner is an amazing author and Becoming James Black is unlike anything I have ever read from her before. I was a little worried when I decided to read this book because this is James' Back story and most books that have a back story have huge time jumps and can be slightly choppy when reading. This book flowed from beginning to end. I honestly forgot while I was reading that it was a back story to the first book. Dare I say that this was some of the best writing that I have read from this author. While James and Scarlet's childhood was not pretty I praise the author for being able to write about such a sensitive subject with such class, but still making the reader see how horrible things can really be. This is not your average sunshine and roses story. The fact is the subject matter is hard but it something that is very real in our world. The emotions I felt while reading this not only for the main characters but all of characters was unlike anything I have felt from a book before. That being said this book is a must read.
