Insightful Read and A reflection on life.
It’s an insightful and captivating read. Focusing not only on heartbreak but the importance of moving and growing from difficult experiences.The author does a great jobs of pushing the concept of personal growth. Their use of imagery appeals to the reader and helps paint a captivating image. Once you start it’s difficult to stop. The author does a great job of reminding the reader that pain is a part of life and the importance of growing and learning from it. The author explores concepts such as: love, family, culture, social commentary, and personal growth. The poems written in Spanish are beautifully written and are great tribute to her family. Although the author touches upon love it’s not completely romanticized and touches upon both the positive and negative aspects. Highlighting the importance of an adult love. Not one of rom coms or teen age romances and that transition of knowing what you want but more importantly knowing what you deserve.The author explores the concept of sexuality and the depths and meaningless that can have and the relation sexuality can have to her culture but also to her empowerment as a women. This read is truly a must for those going through heartache, love, and the change from adolescence into adulthood. Will definitely recommend and definitely a must read!
