“Love thy neighbor” is easier said than done in this funny romance. Emily has hated Jack since he spilled coffee on her blouse during their first day in college. And she didn’t like him any better after they began teaching at the same school in her hometown of Rome, Kentucky. When Jack moves away to get married, Emily thinks he’s finally out of her life, but weeks later, he not only calls off the wedding but returns to Rome and buys the house next door. Is it possible that desire lurks behind their rivalry, or that Jack could help Emily realize her dream of becoming an author? Sarah Adams makes the push and pull between love and aggravation truly entertaining, as well as mixing in delightful local color and some steamy scenes of passion.
