Ben Hur
This is a book well worth reading, but it’s not for everyone. The language style is difficult for those used to 21st century English.
For Christians or those considering Christianity, it gives a new perspective. I believe it a classic must read.
Way more than a chariot race
The movie inspired by this book dominated my youth. My favorite toys were a Ben Hur related.
I knew of Lew Wallace only from the battle of the Monocacy.
There is so much more to the story.
Wallace’s writing style reminds me of O Henry and his painting of scenes with his text never disappoints. He cleverly weaves to protagonist into the fabric of Bethlehem to Calvary.
A great read. An even better read if you are a person of faith.
