Benny and Estelle Dickson had a seven-month crime career that took them to multiple states throughout the Midwest. The FBI entered the case after they robbed a couple of federally insured banks in South Dakota. Aside from banks the husband and wife duo kidnapped people at random and took hostages. Stella Mae "Estelle" Irwin was only sixteen when she joined Benny Dickson in a life of crime. Benny, an amateur poet, was the son of a high school chemistry teacher in Topeka.

Glosses over story, incorrect info, read Wikipedia for same info-it’s free
I feel like I just read information pulled out of Wikipedia and newspapers.com and strung together to make a “book.” Oh wait, I did! (See the reference page.)
The real story has been glossed over, and you never get the feel of who these two were. I purchased this book for research and all I got were accounts of their crimes.
Also, there is misinformation. Stella was NOT a ‘crack shot” - far from it. (She accidently shot a hole through the roof of their getaway car, and when told by Benny to shoot the car tires of pursuing cops, she missed despite the close proximity.) Benny did NOT have Hitler’s photo in his possession. This is all information Hoover invented to cover up a huge blunder of FBI G-men shooting an unarmed man in the back as he ran.
This is a bunch of newspaper clippings strung together to make a “book.” I gave two stars for effort. What a waste of $4.99 - I’m not too happy here...
