Good horror read for a rainy day

As usual, Taylor's work read like a horror movie screenplay. It was interesting, although the chronicling of the child abuse made it very difficult to read at times. I gave it a 3 because I feel it wasn't as polished in the last 1/3 of the book as some of Taylor's other works are. Also, there were several loose ends that deserved tidying. I also felt there were some moments that the characterization was inconsistent for Lee especially. Overall, though, not jarring and not bad. I will continue to read and recommend this author.
